Frequently Asked Questions

Are Smart Flour Foods certified gluten-free?

YES! All of our products are certified gluten-free. Quality control measures are in place at all of our manufacturing facilities to meet the standards set forth by the Gluten Intolerance Group and supervised by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization (GFCO) that certifies all of our products as gluten-free. Smart Flour’s GFCO certificate can be sent upon request.

Are Smart Flour’s products vegan?

All of our crusts (Ancient Grain and Tavern varieties) are vegan! However, our breads and desserts contain egg.

Are ancient grains a big part of Smart Flour’s foods?

You betcha! While many companies talk about including ancient grains, sorghum, amaranth and teff are the primary ingredients in every Smart Flour product. Visit our ancient grains page to learn more.

Are ancient grains considered whole grains?

Yes! Sorghum, amaranth and teff are whole grains.

Are Smart Flour’s products only for those who are gluten intolerant/diagnosed celiac?

No, not at all! Our products are so tasty and nutritious that they’re great for everyone. In fact, we have many gluten-loving folks who also LOVE our products.

Our restaurant has specific formats for our products. Can you make your crusts/breads/desserts in a different size?

Yes! We are looking to expand our line for crusts and breads and are committed to working with our operators. Most of the time (pending minimum orders), we are able to create unique sized breads/crusts to suit their needs.

Can I cook from frozen (crusts)?

Yes! Our crusts can be cooked from frozen, although we do highly suggest slacking prior to cooking for optimal results. Many operators choose to cook directly from frozen to prevent any possible cross-contamination while defrosting, and have had great results.

How do I sell Smart Flour products in my restaurant?
